Are you the future we're looking for?

You’ve been at this for a while. And what you’ve learned has changed what you’re building.

You’ve moved well beyond the idea. You have customers, partners, community, or other meaningful relationships around your work. You’ve tried things, learned things, changed course, and kept going. There is real evidence that what you’re building matters to people beyond you.

And somewhere along the way, you’ve started to see something others may not yet see.

Maybe you discovered that the problem you set out to solve wasn’t actually the problem. Maybe years of working inside a system revealed a completely different point of leverage. Maybe the way you source, share ownership, build relationships, circulate resources, or involve community has become as important as the thing you originally set out to create.

This is the territory we’re interested in.

You also still have the ability to choose where this goes. You haven’t given away so much control that investors, funders, or other outside interests can determine your direction. You know what you’re building and why, and you have enough agency to protect the mission, make different choices, and follow what you’re learning. You have learned that building something different requires the freedom to follow what you’re learning without capital or other interests pulling you back toward the conventional.

We’re calling in people whose experience has led them to build differently  and whose work is beginning to show us something about how we might live, work, care, create, and share resources in the future.

You don’t need to have arrived. But you need to be far enough into the work that there is something real to learn from, something others are responding to, and something becoming possible because you’ve built it.

At the heart of our discernment are two questions:

Is this something we need for the future?

Are community and relationship at the centre of how it is being built?
